Heart & Soul

your unique sessions

Your pet has a loveable personality that makes them one-of-a-kind, but when you try to capture those quirks on camera, it’s no easy feat. They either won’t sit still, refuse to look at the camera, or are a little camera shy.

As an experienced pet exclusive photographer, I love capturing the defining traits of every animal I photograph. My calm and patient approach allows me to capture the essence of any pet’s personality, even the overly excitable ones.

Your pet is an important part of your family. We are here to celebrate this and to give you an unforgettable experience.

She makes the whole process effortless; from the photoshoot to narrowing down the many great proofs to the final exciting visit to drop off the end results! Teann is a natural photographer – her talent is a true gift to everyone she works with. – Marcie, Finn
As a professional photographer myself, I can confidently say Teann is one of the best artisan pet photographers in Alberta. Her passion for animals is apparent during the entire process which ends with these amazing images. I will cherish the photos for the rest of my life! – Chelsea, Bear
Working with Mutt Love Photography was a wonderful experience. We knew we were going to have to say goodbye to our Logan after his cancer returned. Teann was able to accommodate our requests and captured his spirit in every photograph. We will be forever grateful. – Jessica, Logan

FAQs

Absolutely! Capturing your unique bond with your pet is important and something I love doing! Inside your session, there’s also the option to take family portraits with your pet. We’ll discuss specific details in the Planning Consultation prior to your session.

All outdoor sessions typically take place approx. 2 hours before sunset. This is the best time to capture the perfect light. The quality of light is of utmost importance in creating beautiful portraits.
If the sun is nowhere to be found on your session date, the time can be changed to earlier in the day. In the event that the weather doesn’t cooperate (ie. rain, storm, cold temperatures), we’d reschedule our session for a brighter day.

I have various shooting location options in and around Edmonton, Alberta so we can pick a backdrop that fits your dog’s personality. One could say I’ve become somewhat of a professional location scout.
The location for your session is chosen together based on what we discuss at the Planning Consultation. A Location Guide will be sent when your session is officially booked. Most settings are fairly quiet and typically not frequented by other dogs or people. Yay! Less distractions!

Yes, definitely! I’ve done many sessions where dogs need to be on leash (even with taking action images!). Safety is always of utmost importance. Special techniques are used during the session to assist and in the post-production phase to remove leashes from the photos.

Absolutely! Each and every session is unique. My goal is always to capture their true personality. By allowing your pet to act naturally, I’m able to capture the most authentic images of your dog. Approximately 80% of the dogs I photograph are untrained. While understanding “sit and stay” is helpful, it’s not a requirement.
