5 Awesome Things To Do with Your Dog This Weekend! (in Edmonton)

There are so many super fun events going on this weekend and your pooch can be a part of it too! It’s going to be a hot one this weekend so be sure to be prepared with lots of water! We took our 2 liter jug today just to be sure we were well stocked and it sure came in handy!

So without further ado here are the list of 5 awesome things to do with your dog this weekend in Edmonton!

(everyone was panting today so water was very important and we were always on the look-out for shade!)

1.Enjoy Whyte Avenue Art Walk

Take a stroll down Whyte Avenue and enjoy the amazing artwork at Art Walk. There is so much variety and so much to look at! This is one of my favorite events of the year. I especially love the fact that Juno can get exercise while we browse! The streets can get quite busy at times so ensure your pup is comfortable in areas with high traffic. While there take a stroll by to check out the incredible sand sculptures at Sand on Whyte.

2. Head over to Muttstock 2017 and check out the festivities

Check out Muttstock at Eastwood Park. Enjoy music, family and dog friendly events, and help raise money for local animal rescue organizations. I think that is a win all around! This is their 3rd annual event and it is sure to be a great one!

3. Drop in dog swim at The Dog House Daycare & Training

Does your dog love the water? Want to trial swimming for the first time? The Dog House Daycare and Training has a large 14′ swimming pool and are hosting their first drop in pool swim this Sunday! For more information and to purchase tickets find out more here.

No swimming experience necessary. Knowledgeable staff available to assist with creating a positive swim experience for your dog.

4. Visit Lucky Donkey Indoor Dog Park

Does your dog not fair well in the heat but you still want to do something fun and active? Head over to Lucky Donkey, Edmonton’s only indoor dog park! Allow your to play in a safe and controlled environment. This is a great place especially for small dogs. They also offer hourly dog sitting if you want to head out with family or friends for a bite to eat or to visit Whyte Avenue Art Walk!

5. Make your dog a homemade frozen treat and stay home to enjoy the sun!

Check out Fox & Tux Boutique for great ingredient ideas and check out their selection of toys to keep your pup busy in the heat! (see post from July 5). Get creative and create your own recipe with all your pups favorite flavors. Fill up that kiddie pool, turn on the water hose, relax, and enjoy the sunshine!

Hope you have a  wonderful weekend!
